Josef Kote
Born in Tirana, Albania, he now resides in Toronto.
After completing 8 years of studies at Tirana Fine Arts Academy, Joseph Kote earned his degrees in Scenology and Painting.
Following many years of artistic research Mr. Kote presents to us today landscape scenes in a very contemporary manner and style. His natural talent and affirmative brushstroke shine throughout his compositions giving his canvases a singular intensity. His astute use of colours, balancing both intense and soft tones, end up as a presentation of a very high order. Joseph Kote is a master in the true sense of the word, and marries his talent with an artistic maturity seldom encountered in art circles of today.
Many works by Joseph Kote can be found amongst private and public collections in the U.S, in the U.K. in Italy and France, to name a few. Many more of his creations have found a home in Greece and his patrons are plentiful, ordering many commissioned canvases. A hallmark of his works are those commissioned by art lovers, including a series in 1988, for the “Pan Hellenic Cultural” to paint “Meeting the Leaders” cover page of a book titled “Armani” representing the Assembly of the Founders of Modern Greece.
In May 2000, he was commissioned by the City of Toronto to paint the portrait of George Stephanopoulos, then president of Greece, while visiting Toronto.
